Submitting a printed TDAC for an application to an extension?

Yesterday, I read a report that initially puzzled me.

You all know and are aware of the requirement to fill out and submit the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card), which has been in effect since May 1, 2025. It can be completed starting 72 hours before your planned arrival in Thailand.

As soon as you receive the TDAC QR code via email, you should definitely print it out and take it with you. Why is that?

You won't be explicitly asked for it at the immigration counter anymore, because the immigration officer can see it on their computer screen after scanning your passport. And you can theoretically show it on your phone.

BUT:

According to a recent report, Immigration will require a copy of the TDAC signed by you in blue ink, when applying for the next one-year extension of stay. And most likely soon, the same when applying for the 30-day tourist extension.

To date (August 16, 2025), there has only been one report on this. However, I am expecting more of those to appear.

It's somewhat understandable, because previously, you had to present your TM6 departure card when applying for the one-year extension of stay, and the same applied when one applied for the 30-day touristic extension.

When the TM6 was abolished almost three years ago for air travel and later also for land travel, I had to react.

I had long since removed the fact that you no longer had to present the TM6 departure card from my consultation templates – and now it will probably be added back to the list of requirements of the various immigration offices as proof of a completed TDAC.

By informing people about this, I can at least prevent you from having to leave the immigration office empty-handed if they ask for a printout of your TDAC and you unfortunately don't have it with you on this day

Be prepared and always expect the unexpected

I have done yesterday my first 1 year extension on my non O-A eVisa in Phuket.

They ask for a picture from me in front of my location and a print-out of Google-Map with GPS data. The renting-contract was not needed.

The officer told me, that I need to show each year a copie of my initial eVisa and said to put a small amount above 800k on my fixed account.

Question: the next 90 day reports starts as from yesterday or from my last 90 day report?

Thanks and happy to have get my year extension and a multy-entry permit. All was done in 2h and pick-up my passeport today afternoon. Great service🙏

I'm currently in Thailand on a 90 day non immigrant O visa. It expires 19th of May.

I'm intending to get a 1 year extension afterwards.

I'm considering making a trip to the US from the 15th to 22th of May. Is this possible while keeping my 1 year extension?

Hello, I understand i can apply for the non-imm O visa (90days) at the Thai embassy in my country then come to Thailand and do the 1yr extension.

Is it possible to come to Thailand on the 30 days visa exempt first and then apply for the non-imm O visa (90days) and do also the 1yr extension? I’m from Singapore and my spouse is from Vietnam, she is below 50yrs old. Kindly advise me thanks.
