TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus among commenters is that in Jomtien, you can apply for a one-year extension of stay within 30 days of your visa's expiration. However, some reported being able to discuss applying up to 45 days in advance if they had a valid reason, but this is not guaranteed. The information may vary by location; for instance, in Chiang Mai, applications can be made up to 45 days prior.

We were told up to 40 days before with a reason, such as travel to another province. Up to 45 days with a confirmed flight.

Info given at Jomtien immigration in November 2023.

in Jomtien , their policy is you can apply for the one year extension of stay within 30 days.

However , you can discuss it with the Thai Immigration Officers about applying for it within 45 days with special reasons for it. No guarantee, but I know that's been granted before.
