TLDR : Answer Summary
If your current COVID extension expires on March 24, you can apply for a one-year extension based on marriage as long as you have 30 days or less remaining on your current stamp. It's advisable to prepare your necessary documents and ensure your funds meet the criteria required by the immigration office. Once you apply, you will receive a 30-day under-consideration stamp, during which the office may conduct an in-home visit. After the consideration period, your official extension will be processed.

Totally okay to do that, in fact the offices are telling people TO get the covid extension to give time for getting documents or seasoning the funds etc.

As
@El***
said it is up to the immigration office, as a rule you can apply when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp.

So you're fine to go apply now if your funds are seasoned and you have the documents.

Remember when you apply you'll turn in your paperwork, pay the 1900baht, get a 30 day under consideration stamp & during that time the immigration office might or might not send someone to your house for the in home visit. Then you go back on the date that under consideration stamp runs out and they ink in the rest of the 11 month extension (the 30 day under consideration stamp is the first month of your new year extension)

Thanks Tod and Ellie! My covid extension is good until March 24, but I'm doing my 1-year extension at the Lak Si office (Chaeng Wattana), so I guess I'll go do it as soon as I have my bank papers in order.

The real question IS

Was your original entry on a Non-O VISA? Where you got stamped in for 90 days? Or what stamp were you on before you went on the covid extension?

, yes, I entered Thailand on a Non-O Visa, wanted to apply for a 1-year extension in January but was missing some bank papers, so they told me to get a covid extension in the meantime.

Then it depends on your local office.. Some allow you to apply for extension when your current admitted stamp date is 45days or less (such as Bangkok, CM, etc), most offices 30days or less.
