Everything by the book. Went a week before and got a printed list of the documents required. Nothing unusual. Bank book with today’s date, passport, bank letter, insurance certificate.
Go to bank to get book updated and letter
Then to office.
SURPRISE!
also yellow book, wife’s IC (!?), copy of TM30, a 15 minute negation on whether or not a number greater than 800k is….greater than….800k
And then a 1 hour wait as the clerk forgets to call that the passport is ready.
Learnings:
1). Update bank book FIRST. that way if for some odd reason it doesn’t give today’s date you can sort it at the counter -1 stop
2). No matter what the office says for paperwork bring EVERYTHING and make a copy of EVERYTHING.
anyway, good for another year. Jan I start the LTR as I really do not want to go thru this rubbish every year.
Ok, for the O A visa application it asks you to send the provided foreign insurance certificate. Is this to be filled in by the Thai health insurance you buy as part of this application or are you required to buy travel insurance as well in your home country and have them sign it?
Hi everyone I am planning to apply for a one year extension of stay. (I'm sorry in advance if I'm wrong in professional terms).
My permission to stay expires on my O A 13/3/2021.
My visa will expire on 9/10/2020.
1) How long in advance can I extend my visa? Will it be from 9/10/20 or from 13/3/21?
2) Is a request for multiple entries made on the same day?
3) In CW, how long in advance are they willing to get the approval from the bank regarding the 800k (? My branch in Bangkok Bank explained to me that they issue the certificate after a few days from the date of application).
Hi everyone 🙂 I am planning to apply for a one year extension of stay in January 2021 when my permission to stay expires on my O A visa. Is it permitted to transfer the 800,000baht from overseas to my Thai bank account now? or do I need to wait until about two months before my application? I was just thinking about taking advantage of the good rate at the moment against the Aussie dollar. Thanks
Arrived back to Don Mueang from Manila last night on the O A visa, they did not ask for proof of insurance, but only stamped me in for 30 days, the young officer then called her head of dept over, the stamp was then corrected and a polite smile and apology was given from the immigration officer.
I am now in Thailand on my first O A multi visa. When I leave the Kingdom in 90 days do I need a re-entry permit or do I just go through immigration and return in say 30days and still get another 90 days.
