Will two separate health insurance policies cover the gap for my non-immigrant O A visa in Thailand?

Last year I purchased the mandatory health insurance for an expected 12-month extension of my non-immigrant O A (Retirement) stay. The policy and insurance certificate covered the 12-month period from the end of December, 2021 to the end of 2022.

I did not get the extension and returned to Australia. Subsequently, I was granted a new non-immigrant O A (Retirement) visa from 23 March until March of next year. I met all the other requirements for the visa though there was now a three month gap between the expiry of my insurance and the expiry of the new visa. The Thai consulate exercised discretion in granting the visa on the understanding that I’d address the gap in my insurance cover ASAP. I was reminded of this when I went through immigration at Suvarnabhumi earlier this month. My insurance company has advised that they can’t/won’t extend my existing policy but can provide a separate policy to cover the, approximately, 12 week gap.

The question the insurer has posed to me is, as I’d have two policies and two insurance certificates covering discrete but continuous cover for the duration of the visa, whether this would likely fulfill Thai immigration’s health insurance requirements? Any comments/observations appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user discusses their situation regarding health insurance requirements for their non-immigrant O A (Retirement) visa in Thailand. They initially purchased health insurance for a planned extension but returned to Australia without obtaining it. After receiving a new visa, there was a three-month gap in insurance coverage. The insurance company proposed a separate policy for this gap, prompting the user to question if having two distinct policies would satisfy Thai immigration's health insurance requirements. Comments suggest that as long as the total coverage is valid for the visa duration, it should meet the immigration requirements.

when you go to get a yearly extension at the immigration office you would show the original policy you started with, that short one which bridges the gap, and then a whole NEW year policy for the next year which you'll get the new extension for

Great. That’s what I’ll do.

you get stamped in for as long as your health insurance is valid which was probably what they did when you came thru Suvarnabhumi earlier this month (stamped you in for as long as your current insurance was good for)
