Hello, I'd like to check if anyone else has encountered this issue.

I heard that the Kasikorn Bank (K Bank) branch inside the Chaengwattana Immigration Office has closed. The closest alternative K Bank I know of is in Laksi, but it doesn't open until 11:00 AM.

Can anyone confirm: Is it required to obtain the official bank letter on the very same day you submit your O-A visa extension application?

Thank you

Anybody have experiences with extending an O A visa at Nonthaburi?

Mine’s coming up and I’d rather avoid surprises.

To extend my O-A visa locally I need 800,000 baht on a bank account but

1) Does it have to be a Thai bank account.

If so,

2) can it be on any Thai bank account or does it have to be a dedicated bank account for visa extension,

3) can it be on several bank accounts with the total making up 800,000 baht? . I.e one savings account and one bond account or current account.

Edit 4th question.

4) How long before I apply for extension does the money need to be in the account?

My O-A visa expires middle of December and I plan on extending it in Thailand. I will therefore transfer 800k+ thb to my Bangkok Bank account. I expect a sum like that will trigger a money laundering question from the bank. How can I show that the money is legit?

Good morning Thai visa advice team. I did go through the theme visa extension 50 based upon retirement but I'm still a bit unsure hence my post.

I'm currently on a O-A extention based upon marriage. It needs to be extended next month. To be honest my previous marriage extention was a nightmare. Witnesses, photos and personal house visits.

I'm flying to Vietnam next month for a week so my idea was NOT to get a reentry permit but get stamped in on return on a visa exempt for 45 days. Do my TM 30 within 24 hours of arrival. 30 days before my visa exempt runs out go to immigration with the necessary documents (I've always banked > 800k)and apply for a non O based upon retirement. Have I missed out on anything? I'd be very grateful for any comments

Thank you

Hi,

I have to extend my O-A visa for one year next month.

Is it necessary or possible to make an appointment in advance for changwattana?

Are there any new requirements that have been added from the last year?

Hello ladies and gents.

It is soon the time to extend my husband's stay based on the O-A visa. This is the second extension. His health insurance runs out on 25 October this year. When can he go to get this done and does the new insurance need to start from 26 Oct please?

Many thanks in advance for your help which is always truly appreciated. Take care!

Is some bank letter required when using the 65k baht/mo method when extending an O-A visa? I will be extending for the first time early next week. I will have bankbook info showing deposits plus copies of transfers from Transferwise website. Is there still some letter needed from the bank? I understand the need for one if using the 800k method but I am not. So what would be the intent of the letter? Would it be only current official proof that the account still exists? I just want to make sure what the bank gives me is what is needed. Last week I was in the bank and overheard a foreigner tell a bank teller that immigration told him the letter they gave him was the wrong one. I don't know any other details about his case. It just left me wanting to make sure I get what I need for my case. Thanks!!

I've just come across the passage below regarding extending an o-a visa. I was unaware that it is possible to extend it in-county by depositing 800k in a Thai bank. The passage makes no mention of seasoning. The best thing is to check with them, but I thought I'd ask here first anyone has information on, or experience of, this? Could I deposit 800k in a bank a couple of weeks before my visa expires and expect it to be extended for a year? Thanks.

A one-year extension of stay shall be granted at the discretion of the immigration officer to the foreigner as long as he or she meets the above requirements*."

Greetings aliens! I’m currently here on the year long extension of my O-A visa which expires October 4. My plan is to go to Cheang Wattana Oct 1 and ask for a year extension and I just want to make sure I’ve got everything they’re asking for.

I wired 800k to my Kbank account here the end of July. I’ve got health insurance already, Pacific Cross, and will be changing the term start date to Oct 1 to sync with the extension. I did get a sheet with info at CW and there is no mention of a local police report or a medical test. Im hoping I’m good to go and not misread or misunderstood something along the way..
