Mine’s coming up and I’d rather avoid surprises.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around extending an O-A visa in Nonthaburi, sharing tips on ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and timing. Key points include the necessity for valid year-long insurance to avoid a short extension, the importance of understanding whether the Non-OA Visa or the permission to stay stamp is expiring, and the suggestion to visit the Immigration Office for up-to-date requirements. Additionally, it is advised to start the extension process at least 30 days in advance and to consider options between extending in-country versus doing a border bounce.

Go 30 days ahead of time. Give yourself time to get whatever you are missing and return later.

Is your Non-OA Visa expiring or is your 12 month permission to stay stamp in your passport expiring. If it is your Non-OA and you have insurance for 12 months you can do a border bounce to get a new 12 month entry stamp. If you extend in country you need to go to your Immigration Office and get their list of requirements for your particular visa type.

Insurance needs to be valid for the full year extension otherwise you're only stamped in till it's expiry date. Best to go to the office and get their most recent requirements list.
