I've just come across the passage below regarding extending an o-a visa. I was unaware that it is possible to extend it in-county by depositing 800k in a Thai bank. The passage makes no mention of seasoning. The best thing is to check with them, but I thought I'd ask here first anyone has information on, or experience of, this? Could I deposit 800k in a bank a couple of weeks before my visa expires and expect it to be extended for a year? Thanks.

A one-year extension of stay shall be granted at the discretion of the immigration officer to the foreigner as long as he or she meets the above requirements*."
TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend your O-A visa in Thailand by depositing 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account. However, it's important to meet specific seasoning requirements. The 800,000 Baht must be held in your name for at least 2 months before applying for the extension, and it should be maintained at that level for 3 months after your extension is granted. Moreover, the balance cannot drop below 400,000 Baht for the rest of the year. Additionally, you will need mandatory health insurance from a recognized Thai provider.
