Hello ladies and gents.

It is soon the time to extend my husband's stay based on the O-A visa. This is the second extension. His health insurance runs out on 25 October this year. When can he go to get this done and does the new insurance need to start from 26 Oct please?

Many thanks in advance for your help which is always truly appreciated. Take care!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The husband can apply for the O-A visa extension once he has 30 days or less remaining on his current visa, which means he can apply as early as September 26 if the health insurance is renewed. The new health insurance should start on October 26, the day after the current policy expires.

you need insurance from one of the 18 approved thai insurance carriers that issue the health insurance for people on an O-A visa/extension

Get another year of the mandatory 40K/400K out/in-patient health insurance from one of the 18 approved thai carriers so that it starts on the day his current policy runs out

In Phetchaburi he can go apply for a new extension when he has 30 days or less left on his current stamp SO if you get the insurance policy renewed for another year soon and you meet the financial & seasoning of funds requirements you could apply as early as the 26 of Sept
