Hi everyone! Approved within 48 hours in Manilla 😁🙌 I plan to stay here for a while to escape the burning season in Chiang Mai, because it's pretty terrible at the moment.

My question is, can I reassign the 500K THB now that I have the approval e-mail from the visa office? Or do I need to keep it in my personal account and have it in there when I land in Chiang Mai? Do they ever ask at the border, or am I all clear now? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am from California, USA. Our arrival date to Bangkok, Thailand is March 10, 2026.

I was in the middle of applying for the DTV - but I had to stop midway because the Thai E-visa online site said "Applicant should not apply for visa more than 3 months before the date of intended arrival". So I'm too early as of today. I then should wait until December 15ish.

1) Just curious if anyone applied exactly at the 3 month mark and how long it took? Did it take about 2 weeks?

2) I am first applying then I will have my husband and 2 children (ages 9 and 6) apply as dependents if I am approved. I have been reading mixed comments about needing about $50,000 USD as a family to apply. I was hoping that's not true. Anyone with experience with just $25-$30k USD in their savings account for a family of 4?

I hope it won't take too long to get approved. Thanks so much for any help or advice!

I know I’m about to get crucified for asking a question that has been asked before, but there are many different answers and also from long time ago.

When applying in Ho Chi Minh.

Has anyone been accepted with having the 500k only a 2-4 weeks prior to application? So three months statement but only the last month having 500k in it?

Is there a time limit money needs to be in an account that you use for DTV application ?

How strict are they on any time limits from others experience?

Thanks in advance

applying at jakarta. at first i thought they required 3 months of bank statements but now that im looking at their website again, i dont see anywhere that says that.

does anyone have official information for how many statements we need for jakarta?

do they require the 500k baht to be in the account for 3 or more months, or does it matter as long as it's the final balance at the time of application?

Does anyone know if I have insurance in the US and it covers emergencies anywhere in the world if I would still have to buy insurance in Thailand on long term visa. Yes I would have to pay and they reimburse. Showing enough funds in bank account to cover the 3 million policy isn’t a a problem.

Thanks

Is your monthly about 90,000 baht?

Then, in your opinion...

Is using an agent to get non.O and open a bank account relatively expensive to you?

[US retired guy asking. ThanX in advance for your time]

AND Thank you for your responses.

Thought about it. I'll be 70 in November. I think I'll keep my house for a place to visit until I get tired of long flights, maybe in 6 or 8 years. Then I'll sell it. That's the only way I could get an elite visa. I want to live in Thailand, probably til death.

Meanwhile...

I'll see if the town's "guv'ner" can help, along with my fiancé, represent with me at the local bank. Soon enough it seems from reading the constructive comments here and other same-group posts... I'll be able to use the monthly income method for the 800k/yr.

We are wanting to apply for the DTV via the Chicago Embassy in the US. We plan on doing the Muay Thai class or cooking class.

How many months of bank statements is needed with the 500,000? And does a bank account summary work or do I need every account printed out?

I've seen this question posted but they are older posts and not Chicago specific. Just seeing if we can apply now or need to wait a few months.
