Dunno, just telling you what happened for us and why I think they might've done it. This was last week. Our exit from Thailand was manual, nothing electronic as far as I could tell, though we did get physical exit stamps. Our entry to Taiwan was digitally recorded.

We just went to Taipei and got ours in 4 days. Applied late Sunday night. We had to get an exit and entry certificate from Taiwen which we didn't expect (request came 6am on Monday morning). Probably because we had been in Thailand before we applied and Thailand likely wanted evidence that we were no longer in the country. We received our approval 5am Thursday morning.
