TLDR : Answer Summary
For visa extensions in Thailand, there are different financial requirements based on whether the extension is for retirement or marriage. For a retirement visa, applicants need to show either: (1) 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account, (2) a monthly income of 65,000 baht certified by their embassy, or (3) a combination of both that equals at least 800,000 baht annually. The funds must be seasoned in the bank for specific periods: 60 days prior to the first extension and 90 days for subsequent extensions. For a marriage visa, the requirements are either 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account or a monthly income of 40,000 baht, also certified by the embassy.

-for extensions based on being over 50 for the first yearly extension you need the 800K baht seasoned in your account for 60 days prior to your application for extension. For every subsequent yearly extension you need the money seasoned 3 months prior to your application.
-for extensions based on marriage to a thai you need the 400K baht seasoned in your account for 2 months prior to your application.
- for extensions based on raising half-thai children there is NO seasoning of the 400K baht and it can be put into the account the day you apply if you want to.
-for extensions based on raising foreign children for the first yearly extension you need the 500K baht in your account for 30 days prior to your application and for subsequent yearly extensions it needs to be in the account 3 months prior to your application.

One other point, you can use the "combination method" to meet the financial requirements on extensions based on being over 50 (retirement) where some money is banked here and you use the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter. As long as the balance is 800K baht for the entire year it's okay
BUT
More and more immigration offices are now requiring the banked money to be seasoned the requisite amount of time when using the combination method. So if you're doing that be aware of it.

Thanks for the clarification, I knew about the no aging for the family/Thai children visa, wasn't sure if that applied to marriage.

Don't forget the aging
60 days for first time
90 days after.
You need a copy of your updated passbook & a letter from the bank.
They prefer the letter in Thai.
They can be no older than 7 days but they prefer if it's the day before.

The money in the bank has to be there minimum 2 months prior your first application. after that 3 months prior. Pension or income must be certified by you Embassy.
To meet the financial requirements there are three choices.
-banking 800K baht in an account in your name the requisite time before your application
-submitting a notarized statement of income from abroad from your consulate showing you make 65K baht a month in income.
-using a combination of banked money and the income notary showing a total of 800K baht for the year.

But to help you: There is no Extension of Stay based on retirement. It is called Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age. You don't have to be retired for this.

So you still have to have the 800k or the 400k in a Thai bank.

For retirement only dont work that way on marriage
NO, there are two options for Extension based on marriage, money in bank OR option 2 monthly income. For based on being over 50 (retirement) there are 3 options. I numbered them 1 2 and 3 in my first comment.

It works easy. For Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years you need 1. 800.000 Thb on Thai bank account 2. Monthly income of 65.000 Thb certified by your Embassy 3. Combination of both with minimum 800.000 Thb. For Extension of Stay based on marriage with Thai National you need 400.000 Thb on Thai bank account or 40.000 Thb monthly income if from abroad certified by your Embassy if from inside Thailand with tax receipts.

Depends on your Embassy, best is to contact them.

What do you need to show the embassy that proves that you have the income? Just a bank statement?
