Does anyone know if you have to be in your home country to apply for a remote worker visa? Or can you do it whilst in Thailand? Thanks

Hey guys!

I'm a US citizen looking to get my DTV in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I wanted help with the best practices/EXACT paperwork and docs needed so i get the least amount of additional requests or needless holdups:

I am a remote worker with an LLC although i'm fine doing soft power (muay thai or language) if that is a similar alternative. Which would be better?

Any advice and guidance would be super appreciated šŸ™

šŸ„³šŸ„³ Success applying in Taipei, Taiwan as a remote worker šŸ„³šŸ„³

Here is my experience:

The application process took 2 days.

I submitted the application in person in the morning. They wanted me to highlight my name, the name of my boss, name of the company, salary transfers on the bank statements, salary on the payslips on the documents. They asked me to come back in the afternoon.

In the afternoon, no questions were asked, I just needed to pay 11 000 TWD.

I had to pick up my passport with the Visa in it in the afternoon next day.

Documents I submitted:

* Employment contract (in original languages, and an officially translated version)

* Remote work certificate/letter

* Job certificate

* Company registration document

* Payslips of the past 6 months

* Bank statements of the last 6 months

* Proof of 500k baht in bank account

* Visa application form

Let me know if you have any questions, if you are applying as a remote worker, I may be able to help.

Does anyone have experience successfully getting the DTV having provided documentation supporting multiple categories (esp. in Taipei or Jakarta)?

For example, I am applying as a remote worker but I am also considering including documentation about an upcoming dental procedure I'm scheduling in Bangkok. Do you think this multi-category approach would help strengthen my application, or end up causing confusion?

Hey group Iā€™ve applied as a remote worker and currently the visa status is ā€˜processing pending approvalā€™. Problem is my flight is in 3 days. What do you think I should do ?

I was approved for the DTV out of the Los Angeles office, on my second pass. First pass was rejected because of middle name versus middle initial on application. I applied under the remote worker category.

I just saw someone post about adding a dependent after being approved. My wife is currently on the one year renewable retirement visa. We would consider adding her as a dependent of mine. I do travel back and forth to the states often. She stays in Thailand for much longer periods of time, but the 180 day max would not be an issue as we do a lot of travel to nearby countries.

I know I can research on my own, but can anyone give feedback on the process of adding her to mine and anything we should be aware of? Thanks in advance.

When applying for remote worker via HCMC eVisa site, is everyone including their most recent tax return and/or been getting asked to supply it as extra documentation?

Iā€™m looking at applying in the next few weeks and I havenā€™t done mine this year yet šŸ¤”

For a remote worker route, do we need to submit a copy of my employerā€™s company registration? I donā€™t own the company. I am aware that I need an employment contract, employment certificate, etc., but the embassy websites do not list the company registration as a requirement, although some posts here do.
