Looking for advice on the best Company to use for Worldwide/International health insurance, please? Early stages of planning to relocate in Thailand. My intention is to become a non resident in Australia. I would like to spend majority of the time in Thailand, maybe 9 months a year? Possible return to Australia for 2 months, of the year? The remaining month would be two overseas holidays, in different countries? Any genuine suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Check Vietnam for expat life; it is far cheaper than Thailand which you can always visit once you get a base.

Before looking to insurance. Please remember that you become a Thailand tax resident at 180 days in a calendar year. Non-resident Australian is higher tax, even under double tax agreement

Nick Grimley Roger is referring to your Australian tax status, LTR has no bearing on that.

When you say non resident do you mean tax residency or general residency.

There can be advantages to being an Australian non tax resident but I don't see any value in giving up your residency period.

Why don’t you just google “Best travel health insurance” and then. Check reviews on your choices.

I would never ask that question online because if the multi suggestions with possible outdated information.

Are you looking at getting the Non -AO visa? If so you will need to use one of the approved Thai health providers

Shane Kinneally not A/O . . . .it is called Non-Imm-O/A Longstay Visa and requires a police report, a medical check and a mandatory health insurance. For the first two years, you can use a foreign or international health Insurance, as long as they are willing to sign the F.I.C. form. . . . .. And you need a minimum of 800,000 THB in your bank account (can be anywhere in the World). But when you start to apply for the extension, the 800,000 have to be in a Thai bank account, and the health insurance must be a private tgia-listed Thai provider . . .my reco: STAY CLEAR of the O/A visa. Get the Non-Imm-O visa instead
