If I’m on an O retirement visa and I renew my passport while abroad- what happens when I re-enter Thailand? Is my info “in the system already” ? Would I need to show the old passport with as well? Thanks.
Just a couple of quick notes as I'm just back from Laos. Been many times before covid flying one way and was never asked to show anything. But this time my paranoia made me book an onward flight. Good things as I was asked during check in with Lao Airlines at Swampy. They also asked to see cash enough for the visa. 1700 baht lol.
As I was sat in Laos preparing to attempt my Thai re entry, I started to look at the TDAC thingy. In general, I think it works quite well. What frustrated me was the country selectors (there are two on the way towards submission.) They're an absolute mess! Country codes makes no sense, countries doesn't seem to be in any semblance of order, auto suggestion if you just start with like "D" didn't seem to work. So I would suggest starting a few days before intended arrival.
Oh, and Beerlao + pizza at Tyson remains as tasty as always (shame about Bor Pen Yang, though).
Is there a time frame that you have to arrive in Thailand after having DTV granted?
And how close to the 6 months in and out do you have to be? As in can you leave for a while at 4 months and then re-enter.? I was hoping to avoid the burning season
Has anyone successfully get a 180 days stamp after re-entering Thailand after their 6 month course expired and not renewed a new course? I am under the Muay thai dtv, but want to change to remote worker, must I re-apply my visa?
If you leave Thailand during the 60-day tourist visa period - say for a week - and the 60 day period ends while you’re out of the country, do you need the 30-day extension before you leave, or when you return? All input appreciated.
For those with a DTV who have taken a short trip overseas and then returned to Thailand - did immigration ask you any questions or request further proof of your DTV?
For example, if someone got a DTV through a Muay Thai course but only signed up for one month, did immigration ask for proof of another course upon re-entry? Or ask for work contract, payslips etc?
Would this information already be in their system at the airport?
Thank you for letting me join the group. I'm going to be visiting Thailand the end of January. Then Vietnam at the end of April after I hopefully extend my Thai tourist Visa. If I stay in Vietnam for a couple months, do you think I will have a problem getting back into Thailand on another tourist visa? I will be flying in and out. Or maybe I should go to another country first? And stay out of Thailand for a like 4 months? Any help would be great. Thank you all
