I went to thailand and stayed for 90 days, can I come back after 4 weeks?
Answer summary
The ability to return to Thailand after a 90-day stay and a subsequent 4-week absence depends on several factors: your visa type, travel history in the past 12 to 18 months, and the discretion of the immigration officer at entry. While some users suggest you can return without issues, others warn that recent immigration scrutiny may pose challenges, particularly for frequent visitors. If you plan on staying longer or visiting multiple times, applying for a visa could increase your chances of a smooth re-entry.

Now they give only one time extencion +30 day in one year with out any Visa. After that you can get 7 days for getting out of Thailand and that's it. Just get Visa for the next trip.
I just tryed to get extencion on this Monday at Phuket. That is what immigration officers told me. Now I'm getting 9 days becouse I have then flying tickets out of the country.
I’m in the same boat except my flight back to the US is out of Thailand in December. I don’t plan on trying to stay consecutively until then but I want to go back (different area). Not sure if I should get visa now and then come back closer to December on visa exempt or wait until September/October to get a tourist visa and leave in December.
you need to check what visas you are eligible for and then apply for it. the question you should be asking in the group is about the type of visa you might be eligible for.
I was here maybe 56 days flew out to Laos for like 8 days and flew back. Immigration officer told me on arrival back when i leave next i wont be allowed back for a year as it will be twice in a year im here. Got another 60 day exempt now but lets see. Good luck with your travels.
Mark Cooper Rules have changed a lot since then! Regardless, I think the concern is more about how long people are staying rather than how often they visit.
yes , if is the first or second time, if u keep doin they gonna stop u to enter. Was cool time when Visa Run was normally, i spend almost 4 years tattooing in thailand and around asia on Visa Run 2011-2015, cool time. My friend do 15 years of Visa Run in thai before, nobody care. Thailand now is a stupid version of himself
Depends if you returned to your home country for those 4 weeks. Some people are saying you have a better chance if you return home. It’s also up to the immigration officer.
If you returned to the country of your Passport in between, is another factor that will be put into the mix along with lots of good points in the comments already
Depending on your travel history in Thailand, you are likely to get another 60 days (until the rules change), but you will not get another 30 day extension.
I’m assuming you came in on 60 day visa exempt and got a 30 day extension. Your post lacks this information.
Immigration are trying to stop people using the system for coming in and out often .. apply for a visa or take your chances at the border . 🤔 You need to meet the requirements of money in hand and airline ticket out to suit the time period 👍
The idea is that by using the 90 days you can't come back immediately because there is the risk of being refused entry... normally if you did 60 days and left the country for the return there would be no problem... unfortunately you have to respect the rules of re-entry... good luck!
You shouldn't have used the 90 days but instead U should have stayed for 45-50 days n come back,so since uv used all 90 days,u can't come back even if U .come u can't use the 90 days visa like before, may be less like month or something.
depends on the number of days in Thailand if on a visa exemption. I've entered 5 or 6 times this year, longest stay of a week, majority just 3 days. No issues.
there are so many things they do give a visa for its almost crazy not to apply for one, you can apply for one to go to an event there , cultural activity , medical reason ect
Chris Wood i spent almost 9 months out of twelve back and forward there is no limit by air and immigration were always fine with me i even had a overstay because a airline cancelled my flight and I went to immigration they gave me a one week to book and leave no problem they are fine with people who they trust
Robin Banks No visa rules have changed, the rules are now being used to give closer scrutiny to those trying to stay in Thailand long term without the correct visa
That will entirely depend on your history in Thailand over the past 12 to 18 months, the type of visa you plan to come on and the immigration officer you will stand in front of
also depending where your going in Thailand I’ve been questioned many times as a frequent visitor but I’m visiting family up in Issan as soon as they see I’m not in a tourist trap and stopping with family they welcome you in
