Does anyone know if the Thai embassy in Penang processes DTV?

Do I understand the way the DTV "time" is counted correctly?

It allows someone to be in Thailand for up to 180 days per calendar in the country, but that time does not have to be continuous, correct?

I could stay 3 months, then go on a 1-week trip and then be stamped back in (at no additional cost) and stay until I reach max. 180 days, is that correct?

Thank you everyone!

UPDATE: After 90 mins at immigration I was sent to the airport. From there it took about 30 mins but I now have a 5 year stamp, and a note on my file that it is the correct stamp!!!!!

I just arrived at CNX international and the immigration were rather confused by my X-O visa. They asked for my insurance and said that I could only be stamped in until the expiry of that policy in April 2024.

Bit of a back story, I flew in to BKK a month ago and I got stamped in to 2028.

Which is correct?

Attention Members who border-bounce (to either activate a new entry on a multi-entry visa OR to get a new visa exempt entry stamp)

The land border between Thailand and Cambodia at Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet is now requiring people stay IN Cambodia 24 hours before letting you stamp back in to thailand. This is a fairly new policy BUT there are enough verified reports on the inter-web..

I would say IF you need to bounce use either the Ban Laem border with Cambodia OR if you're NOT South African or Russian bounce at the Phu Nam Ron border with Myanmar in Kanchanaburi province.

Remember the unlimited visa exempt entry program approved by the thai cabinet HAS NOT been implemented yet. <- meaning right now people from 44 countries still only can do TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31).

Good Luck,
