What should I do about conflicting immigration stamps for my X-O visa in Thailand?

UPDATE: After 90 mins at immigration I was sent to the airport. From there it took about 30 mins but I now have a 5 year stamp, and a note on my file that it is the correct stamp!!!!!

I just arrived at CNX international and the immigration were rather confused by my X-O visa. They asked for my insurance and said that I could only be stamped in until the expiry of that policy in April 2024.

Bit of a back story, I flew in to BKK a month ago and I got stamped in to 2028.

Which is correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user faced confusion regarding their X-O visa status after receiving conflicting immigration stamps. Initially, they were stamped in with a five-year stamp, but upon re-entry at CNX international, immigration questioned this and stated the stamp could only be valid until the expiration of their insurance policy in April 2024. Community responses clarified that the original five-year stamp from the initial entry was correct, and any subsequent entries should honor that stamp without issuing new ones. It is advised that the user correct the stamp at the immigration office.

you have an OX and come in and out a LOT so are the go-to guy for how that works when you enter.

When you re-enter the country you just get stamped in for the original 5 year entry stamp you got when you first entered on the OX right? You don't get a new 5 year stamp every time..

What's your take on it? Should they go get the stamp corrected? Just curious

my first year is up and surprisingly they didn't ask for proof of insurance. I did have it ready expecting to be asked.

suggest you keep the required health insurance in force and do, as you were prepared to do,... Have the Policy proof to show the insurance if ever asked.

I just arrived and every stamp is dated 24th May 2027

That stamp was wrong and you should have been stamped in on the original 5 year stamp they gave you when you entered on the OX (the 2028 one) that visa doesn't give a new 5 year stamp every entry, just gets you stamped in until the original was was good for..

Go to the immigration office by the airport and get that stamp corrected. The OX entry stamp has nothing to do with the insurance validity (seeing as you can't HAVE a five year insurance policy ๐Ÿ˜• ) You got stamped in wrong

Any advise as to what counter I go to?

@Di ****
nope, but that's not a giant immigration office so I think you'll get to someone eventually who knows what an OX stamp is, just don't give up, don't take the "you need insurance for the stamp b/s" and you should get it sorted

The other choice is go back to the airport and hammer them to correct it ๐Ÿ˜›

thank you. I believe this too. I am leaving the country in 5 months so Iโ€™m going to let it slide this time. Or should I still chase it up?

I'd get it fixed regardless so that they know how to deal with that visa

GET THE STAMP CORRECTED ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

go to the main immigration office up there by the airport DO NOT let those foreign volunteers outside tell you that it can't be done, you want to speak to a thai immigration officer. You should have got the exact same expiration date as your earlier stamp
Tod *********
@Di ****
you know I would chase it up because the last thing you need is the NEXT officer to say "you only got a year last time" so that's all we're giving you this time too ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
