good evening

I am in possession of an over 50 visa which expires on 29 October. I wanted to ask if the renewal practices are still the same and if something has changed. I will return to phuket a few days before the deadline. I left Thailand in May.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the renewal process for their over 50 visa set to expire on October 29, highlighting their absence from Thailand since May. Responses clarified that the user would need to apply for a new one-year extension rather than renewing the existing visa and suggested that the same documents required for last year's extension would be needed, including a new income letter from the consulate. Additionally, a question was raised about whether the user obtained a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand.

Did you get a re-entry permit before you left Thailand?

, just so you're clear you're NOT renewing anything :O

you got a Non-O visa for 90 days then you got a year extension. When this year extension runs out you will apply for a NEW year extension.

You need exactly the same documents you needed when you applied for the year extension last year. A new income letter from your consulate, all the copies, the forms etc.

Do you have a visa or an extension of stay ? If an extension, on what basis ? How are you complying with the financial requirements ? What is your nationality ?

I just have to renew what I already have for another year. so do I have to present the same documents for the first time?

So, you DON'T have a visa. The financial requirements for an EXTENSION have not changed and as an Italian you can still get the required proof of income from your embassy.

I have a one-year visa. I left Italy last year with a three-month "non o" visa, then I made the extension for a year. as for the financial part, I presented a certificate made by the Italian consul explaining how much my annual salary was.
