My First Non-O visa for retirement is about to expire (12 Feb 2020)
I believe I just need to go to immigration with application forms filled in, passport and copies, photos, letter from bank (proof of funds) and cash to pay for it all? Correct or do I need anything else? Planning to renew after I arrive on 30th Jan
Thanks in advance BB

If you have the big stamp with the text Extension of Stay is permitted up to 20 Feb 2020 and next to this you have a big stamp with the text: Re-Entry Permit, you get on entry a new stamp Admitted until 20 Feb 2020. As you can apply for an new Extension of Stay between 30 days and the last day you can visit your local immigration office the day after arrival is you want to. I still advice to pick up first an updated list with the requirements, make the copies, tick the list and then apply when all done.
Yes, get the checklist, tick all the requirements, go back to Chonbori Immigration, hand over the documents, if all in order they might give you directly a stamp but I hear stories you have to pick up the passport the next day. If you get back your passport with the new stamp Extension of Stay is permitted up to 19 Feb 2021, you can apply for a new multiple Re-Entry Permit. Cost of Extension of Stay is 1.900 Thb, cost for multiple Re-Entry permit is 3,800 Thb.
Okay, as the answer on two different questions about two total different ways to stay inside Thailand is the same, the big question is what is inside your passport with the end date 12 Feb 2020? in this example the top picture is called a Visa and on that visa you must have the valid until date 12 Feb 2020, OR
the bottom picture is called an Extension of Stay and in your passport it should than be Extension of Stay is permitted up to 12 Feb 2020
Okay, than on entry you will get a new 90 days Admitted to Stay period. Depending on where you stay you can apply during the last 30 days (some cities 45 days) of this stay for the Extension of Stay. I would advice to be sure it does not become a multiple visit to get all the documents, visit and ask the hand out with requirements, tick the list when you have it and then visit again to apply.
