I entered Thailand on a tourist visa, and after arriving I received approval for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa).
In a few days, my 60-day tourist visa will expire, and I’m planning to go to Laos to renew it.
Is it problematic to leave and re-enter Thailand with the DTV already approved?
I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the situation of leaving Thailand on a tourist visa after receiving approval for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). The user plans to travel to Laos to renew their tourist visa before returning to Thailand. Community members advise that it's generally acceptable to exit and re-enter Thailand with an approved DTV, suggesting that the user should not apply for a new tourist visa but instead present the DTV upon returning for a 180-day stamp. Some participants share experiences and express concerns about the implications of entering Thailand under certain circumstances related to visa applications.
You are correct sir, I’m just saying I’ve seen/heard it. Whether or not someone wants to go this route is up to them to take that risk. But I have seen it happen.
It is not meant to happen but many have done it. Not seen anyone post they have been penalised if they have done it. There was a post that loked like someone had been caught out though during application. Embassy where they applied asked for proof they were in country when they had returned to Thailand
If you have the approved DTV once you leave thailand and come back in present your approved DTV and you will then get a 180 day stamp. Once approved you have 5 years to use the DTV.
