I’m on non o ( based on marriage ) which I’ve renewed at Chaeng Wattana without problems for the past 8 years . What issues arise please if I choose to renew it again in the 30 - 45 days before expiry , obtain the under consideration stamp and then go to the Uk for 2,weeks ( obviously I’d get a reentry permit ) but I was wondering what happens at immigration control on the return . Hopefully the under consideration stays ? And just go to Chaeng Wattana as before? Hope this made sense . Cheers .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has successfully renewed their Non-O visa (based on marriage) for eight years and inquires about the implications of renewing their visa 30-45 days before expiry, obtaining an under-consideration stamp, traveling to the UK for two weeks, and returning to Thailand. Comments suggest informing the Immigration Officer of the travel plans while applying for the renewal and getting a re-entry permit. It is advised to ensure the immigration officer in Thailand recognizes the under-consideration status upon return and to update the TM30 report within 24 hours after re-entry.

Hi Phillip. I was in the same situation as you in 2019. I too am married to a Thai national. Your RP date will be the same as your under review date ( should be month after the expiry of your visa extension ) . When you return toThailand from the UK just ensure the IO at Swampy sees this page and the date he gives you for permitted to stay is the same as the RP date as my bloke initially stamped the expiry date of my visa extension , so i got him to change. Dont forget to update your TM30 on return too within 24 hours.
