Hi I just received my renewed passport today. My retirement visa valid to June 19 is on my old passport. I intend to renew it by May 20. Do I need to transfer the visa to the new passport before I renew it? TIA 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to transfer their retirement visa from their old passport to their new passport before renewing it. Community responses emphasize that while it's generally advisable to transfer the visa first, it might not be strictly necessary. Several users shared their experiences, indicating that one should take both old and new passports to the immigration office to facilitate the transfer, which is usually a simple and cost-free process.

You will have to go to the office that issued your extension to get it transferred to a new passport. I hope that doesn't cause you any problems. I had to fly to Bangkok to get it done.
