Hi all! I'm planning on getting a DTV visa for muay thai.

I just went to the Thai consolate in Los Angeles, and they told me they don't handle anything to do with visas, and that I need to do it online.

Everything I've read and watched says you have to do it at an embassy. So what gives? Can I really apply for the DTV online?

Hi everyone, I’m feeling stressed and a bit confused, so I wanted to ask for some advice.

I recently applied through an agent, (recommended by a friend) for the DTV.

Before paying they said absolutely all the procedure and payments were online transactions.

Once I paid them and the 6 months cooking school, they said I should pay the embassy fee in person.

This was initially something I asked and they said very clearly that was no need to visit the embassy.

Im in India and should take a flight to reach Mumbai.

I paid my monthly rent where I live and though they only spoke about just paying in person, now they suggested me to stay for a couple of weeks in Mumbai till the procedure is finish.

I tried to call Mumbai embassy and the number I can find online doesn’t exist.

The agents can not provide a proper number.

They also mentioned about a case of someone who was granted a 6 months visa at this consulate instead of 5 years, after paying a 6 months soft power. So they encouraged me to pay one year soft power.

I didn’t…

Did anyone have a similar experience? How is about the embassy payments?

Does anyone have a contact of Thai Mumbai consulate?

I would really appreciate your comments .

*half an hour ago the agent said that they will refund their fee.

He didn’t mention about the soft power payment I made.

However, being in India and having to start again, what do you suggest me?

Do I need the soft power if I do it myself and should I travel to Thailand and then leave to Vietnam or Laos to go on with the process? How many days can take?

My idea is to spend there around 2 years or so..

Thank you in advance 🙏

According to the Los Angeles consulate, A requirement to obtain a Non- O visa is to have a return flight ticket to the United States. Can anyone tell me why this is and when you have to show you have the ticket? Once I am in Thailand I have no plans to return to the US at any point in the near future. So what do I do with the ticket or do you buy a return ticket that is refundable?

Hi, does anyone know the current processing time for a tourist visa? We applied 2 weeks ago, still no update and our flight is next week.

Last time, about 2 years ago, it took us about 10 days to get it. Any other advice besides emailing the embassy?

Can you still do the DTV visa application in person at an embassy? The way the website denies the visa without any explanation or chance to fix is very annoying. They don’t reply to emails and give no hint as to why the visa was rejected. Seems like doing it in person would be way better and informative, especially for people who have to try multiple times.

UPDATE : Visa was approved and status changed back to request interview.

THANK YOU SO MUCH I JUST RECEIVED MY APPROVAL !!!!

After calling the embassy multiple times with no response and one lady told me it's no point of me coming to the consulate if I don't have an appointment, I decided to write them an email again.

I sent the third email with urgent and flight date on 03.11 in the REFERENCE

In the email I sent my condolences to the passing of the queen and that we love Thailand and have been there yearly every winter since 2020.

My visa just got approved!!!! This time it is an INDEPENDENT DTV not as a follower of my husband like the DTV visa I received on the 14th October!!!!

I'm beyond happy and exited for our next chapter as a family in Thailand with our dog.

Thank you so much for your help and advice !!!! I'm so happy !!!!

Visa was approved and status changed back to request interview

I went to the interview on the 20th of October and 9 days later, the status has not changed.

I sent 2 emails to Frankfurt with no reply. What should I do ?

Please help, I'm so worried. I'm not from a visa exempted country, my husband is German. He got his DTV in May.

Our flight is next week Monday 03.11.

The emails I sent all got unanswered.

Im applying for a Non O Marriage Evisa through the Sydney consulate and will initially be staying in my wife's apartment which she owns as per her ID card then I will stay at her other property which she owns for which she has a blue house book in her name

What do I put under Accomodation type? Accomodation Name ?

Duration of stay ?

Does she need to make a invitation letter for both properties?Or would it be simpler to just use one adress for the 90 days .

This is a much more detailed than when I applied last October apologies for my confusion!

I should have included this in my previous question about the visa processing timeline. When I completed the application, I accidentally input the wrong end date. I should have used the same date as my health insurance expiration, but I wasn't aware of this requirement and instead wrote an end date approximately 360 days from my planned arrival date.

My insurance expires about 2 weeks before the one-year anniversary of my arrival.

When I contact the consulate about their anticipated visa completion date, should I also correct this information? They'll likely discover the discrepancy during processing anyway.
