About to apply for DTV in Laos…

I’m a 26-year-old Chinese citizen planning to apply for a Soft Power DTV in Laos.

I have around 2 million THB in savings, but no current job or stable income.

My concerns are:

1. For Soft Power DTV, will no job/stable income be a problem if I have enough savings?

2. I entered Thailand 3 times this year and stayed 88 days total. Could this affect approval?

3. For Laos application, is cooking or Muay Thai generally easier/more accepted?

Any recent experience from Laos would be appreciated. Thanks!
Answer summary
A Chinese citizen is applying for a Soft Power DTV in Laos with 2 million THB in savings but no stable income or job. Concerns include whether a lack of income will hinder the application, the impact of previous entries into Thailand on approval, and which course—cooking or Muay Thai—would be better accepted. Responses from users indicate that having no stable job is generally not an issue for Soft Power DTV applications, past visa entries are not a significant concern unless there were overstays, and the choice of course should reflect genuine interest, with recommendations to verify course credibility before enrolling.

1. Soft power - no need to prove income

2. Previous visa runs - not decisive factor. But taken into account to prove your genuine interests in soft power etc

3. You choose the course you really have genuine interests

Recent posts point to Laos being pretty easy compared to other consulates/embassies.

1. No job/stable income should not be an issue. I told them I would not be working for the duration of the stay. If you go for soft power this is not something they will look at. Also do not volunteer information, because it may raise more questions and lengthen the approval process.

2. No. The only thing that may raise concern is if you overstayed.

3. In the past Muay Thai has been highly regarded. I would focus on the specific program itself. Cooking class, Muay Thai or whatever you should ask around and try to make sure it's in good standing/favor with immigration. Contact the school/program and talk to them before paying. Tell them you are applying in Laos.

I used discoverthainature to get approval (they have a webinar option).
