I just received my Thai pass (it took less than 24 hours from submitting). I have my quarantine hotel booked, bought required insurance, and have my flights booked to fly to Thailand on November 17th. I applied for a 60 day visa but have not heard back so I don’t think I will receive my visa in time for my flight. I have 2 questions.

1. I have a US passport. Is it possible to enter Thailand on a 30 day visa exemption and then extend for another 30 days while in Thailand ?

2. If this is possible, I will have to temporarily change my return flight to be less than 30 days from arrival (in order to get through immigration). This return flight will no longer match what I filled out for my Thai pass. Will that be a problem?

Advice from Thailand embassy London is book 11 days quarantine hotel but if you have had 2 coronavirus jabs you may be given 7 days quarantine at the discretion of the immigration officer! What! How can you book your hotel on this basis? Leads to the question does anyone know of any hotel in Bangkok or Pattaya where you can pay at hotel? Also for those in the know what's the cheapest insurance package coverage available right now? Thanks for any advice.
