TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shared their experience of applying for a visa online on December 10 and sending documents via UPS, which they do not recommend due to delays. After receiving their passport on December 29, they had to find a location for a real-time PCR test before their flight to Bangkok on December 31. The conversation highlights the importance of applying for a Certificate of Entry (COE) after obtaining a visa, as well as the necessity of having health insurance to receive the COE. Several commenters relate similar experiences and provide encouragement.
