Just wanted to give some information regarding the 60 day married to a Thai extension while here in a 60 day exempt stamp.

As I was unsure if I was going to be able to get this extension after the 30 day one. I asked the immigration office when I was there last month and she said it wouldn’t be a problem just to make sure my wife was there when I applied. I already knew this as I’ve done this many times in the past.

I got to IT Square around 6:30am and I was first in line. I did book an appointment for 8:30am but it really doesn’t matter there because you still have to sit in the queue, which makes no sense.

After the first set of immigration officers looked over my paper work about 5 times, almost as if they were looking for a reason to deny me. Little do they know, I’ve been through this many times and I’ve learned from my past mistakes. I have everything ready the day before, forms filled out, picture, photo copies etc.

After they finally gave me the queue number, I went into the main office area. Again, my paper work is looked over multiple times, just looking for a reason to refuse or make me do something over again. Once again, I’m well prepared.

I will say this, they went over everything with a fine tooth comb. I’d advise that you have copies and the originals for everything. She even pointed out that my old passport number was on one of the wedding forms we filled out back when we registered our marriage. I explained we got married and I had to get a new passport since. No problems there. She then went over our rental agreement, which I’m not on in the first place. She then asked my wife a couple of things and after all that I was told to go sit in the waiting for passport section.

We were in at 8:30am out at 8:50am. It pays to be there nice and early.

Hope this helps someone.

Good morning all.

I'm visiting my wife in thailand end of June for a month. I was there for 2 months in the beginning of the year.

We are thinking of me staying there with a spouse visa as my wife is working in Thailand.

Any advice anyone can give me please.

Many thanks

I am curious and want to ask a question for expats from the US, that have married Thai women. What are the specific rules concerning social security and a Thai spouse? I've done some research but I'm still not quite clear and I'd like to hear from anyone that has married a Thai lady and is on social security. It says that they have to live in the US for 5 years, although they're not consecutive. And what if you then died? Would she get a portion of your social security? Especially if she had a child under 16 years old?

Not looking for anybody to tell me Don't get involved with a Thai lady here. Please, don't want to hear that. Just want to know about the question and I appreciate you sticking to that topic.

Thank you.

Does the Thai consulate in Savannakhet still offer 1 year multiple entry visa based on being married to a Thai national and are the requirements still the same like last year? I couldn't find the 1year visa on their website anymore.

Hello. I am currently in Thailand on Non Immigrant O multi entry obtained from Savannakhet. Is it possible to obtain 1 year extension of stay based on married to a Thai national when my visa expires? Or, do I have to be in Thailand on some other type of visa in order to apply for this extension?

Hello everyone. Please forgive me if my questions are too basic. I am marrying a Thai resident in May in Oregon and she is here on a green card. We would like to build a house for us to live in a small town near Nakhon Si Thammaret in the future. Her family lives there and we want to build on her ancestral land. My question is if I’m married to a Thai citizen, how difficult is it to live as a married couple in Thailand as a US citizen? The only advice I’ve received was to get a service to handle my visa where I would send them documents to maintain a visa to live in Thailand. No idea of cost and who does this work. Haven’t tried following up because it will be several years before we go and I imagine things could change there with rules.

Hi I could do with people's help and advice on this I met my Thai wife I've just speaking to her for some time, and went to see her April 23 we spoke every day since unfortunately we was rejected on silly reasons for her visa to come here to the UK? 2nd February this year we got married to strengthen a relationship because of the outlay of the marriage in Thailand paying flight costs for family it only leaves me 3,000 in my account is this enough to get a visa for her to come for a little stay in the UK to meet the rest of the family I am hoping in the near future to retiring out their with her she got an agent who's supposed to be doing all the paperwork she keeps changing things from the money I gave my wife she has 5,000 UK. Put this Agent is telling her I still have to have more money in my account all I find is I had to earn, which I do over 18 and a half thousand am I missing something or am i being taken for a ride?
