Hello. I wonder if someone could help me with a visa question.

Im entering Thailand next week with a visa exempt 60 days with my 2 babies and my Thai boyfriend. We will get married in Thailand and apply for the Non o single entry visa and later do the 1 year extension

Does anyone know if I have to leave Thailand to apply for my non o visa ? Or can I apply for it inside Thailand? Would it matter if I came with a tourist visa or visa exempt ?

Thank you 🙏☺️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the application process for a Non-O visa while in Thailand on a visa-exempt entry with their children and Thai fiancé. The responses clarified that it is possible to apply for a Non-O visa within Thailand without the need to leave, regardless of the initial entry type (tourist visa or visa exempt). However, it is essential to ensure there are at least 14-21 days remaining on the current stay when applying. There are no financial requirements for those married to a Thai national, but sufficient time for processing is necessary.

You can apply while in Thailand but you will have to leave the country and use the non o to. Re-enter to get the right stamp. That could be a few hours border hop. Once you are 60 days on the new visa you can do extension

You can apply for a non-O visa in Thailand without leaving. It doesn't matter if it's tourist visa or visa exempt. It will not be a "single entry" visa as you will already be in Thailand, so it will be zero-entry. You just need to make sure you have enough time as you'll have to have at least 14-21 days remaining on your permission to stay at the time you apply. If you don't have enough time they will reject your application as they need time for a consideration period. As a female married to a Thai male you will not have to meet any financial requirements, just the paperwork requirements.
