I'm going to be applying for a dtv freelance visa soon. I have about 800,000 bhat in a tax free cash isa (UK account). This is not my main checking account. It has been there for over 6 months.
From anyone's experience, is this excepted? I will go to the Thai embassy in either Hanoi or HCMC vietnam.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: I have just found out that although it's possible to withdraw the money from this account early, it involves a small penalty and you have to personally visit an English bank to do so.... I'm guessing they won't exept this.
This is aimed at UK expats. I am moving to Thailand in November. I have the sufficient funds to qualify but I have been informed that leaving UK I must close all my UK bank accounts. I have looked at expat offshore bank accounts the rates are poor and their are additional fees. Thai bank accounts having made my 800,000 deposit offer poor interest rates on other cash I might deposit. Looking for advice please.
I’m retiring to Thailand next year and need any advice from you on which are the best uk banks to hold an account for when I no longer live in the uk ( for private pension to be paid into plus savings) I already have a Thai bank account and property.
