Not sure if i have a problem next time i visit Thailand. I visited Thailand from the UK 4 times in 2025, each time i returned back to the UK
Feb - Mar = 21 days
May - May =27 days
July - Aug = 31 days
Sept - Oct = 41 days
Total days spent in Thailand = 120
I realise now that i should have applied for a Visa first time around, but one never knows how things will pan out Thailand is such a beautiful country. I never thought that when i first came in Feb-Mar i would be returning another 3 times in 2025.
I’m planning to apply for the Thai DTV (remote work) visa through the Los Angeles embassy and had a couple of questions, hoping someone here might have experience with this.
1. I’m planning to transfer about $17,000 into a savings account that currently only has a few hundred dollars in it. I’d like to apply for the visa ASAP, but I’m unsure if that balance needs to sit for around 3 months first, or if it’s okay to apply in 1–2 months even though prior statements will show the low balance.
2. For employment verification, will my original offer letter stating that my role is remote be sufficient, or do they usually require a more recent letter from my employer confirming I’m a remote worker?
Any additional tips or insight, especially from anyone who applied through the LA office would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Just an info share. I submitted a non O visa request via the website at the Thai Embassy in London on the evening of the 24 June and received it approved this morning, 1 July. 3-4 working days, Very efficient. I know a few people have been asking on timescales, so thought I’d share my experience. Flight leaves in 8 days time 😊
Hi everyone. I will soon apply for the DTV in Jakarta with soft power (Muay Thai). I've already scrolled through this group and read a lot of information but I'm left with a few questions.
1) Can I prefill the application while in Thailand or any other country for that matter, and then submit it once in Jakarta? (I'm currently in TH and plan to fly out next week.
2) regarding bankstatements:
Do I need a statement of the 500K on the day of submission or is a week prior sufficient?
Do I need 6 months of full transaction history or is end of month balance (6 snapshots) sufficient? (or 3, I read that jakarta embasy is less strict on historical tx)
3) If I apply with soft power, What do I fill in for occupation? I work full time (currently remote) but I'm scared that they might reject my application if I mention this because I don't know if you're supposed to or allowed to work on this visa.
Ah they're cute these embassies. Sitting in hotel in Hanoi after two and a half weeks in Vietnam ready to fly out this afternoon.. Husband had his DTV and I was the hanger on. They stopped asking for documents on Wednesday and I thought I'd better go to the temple yesterday. It worked. As of 5 minutes ago, I have a DTV which hotel has printed out.
Hello- Has anyone had experience applying for the DTV from Manila, Philippines? I'm months away from applying but would appriciate any insight. Thanks.
Like a lot of other posters, I’m in the middle of preparing my visa application on the Thai evisa website. My question is, I’m not yet sure of the exact date I’m coming over so I haven’t gotten my actual flight yet, just want o go ahead and get my visa approved and in hand. If I book a changeable flight and hotel reservation and submit that on my application and then change it when I have a firm date, will I get red flagged if I arrive a few days earlier or later? Thanks in advance!
Just came back from laos on a multiple entry oa and they stamped me for a year without asking insurance certificate wich i did not have, lucky me, thanks Tod for thé advices.
