Hi there. For the visa exemption, I'm seeing conflicting info on minimum funds needed as a solo traveller. Is it cash equivalent of 10,000 or 20,000 Baht? Wondering if it's enough to have around 300$ and then show credit cards etc or if I must carry 20k equivalent. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is confusion regarding the minimum cash requirement for visa exemption when traveling to Thailand. While some sources suggest an equivalent of 10,000 Baht, recent guidance indicates that you should carry 20,000 Baht in cash or its equivalent in major currency. Proof of funds may not be commonly requested at passport control unless necessary, but carrying the sufficient amount is advisable.

Thanks, but this is not the post to poll that I haven't been asked for xx years. Thank you everyone.

IF you are asked to show proof of funds at passport control when you enter Thailand, it has to be 20,000 baht or equivalent in major currency in CASH (10,000 baht per person is old information). Unless you have an extensive history of travelling in Thailand, the chance you are asked for it would be quite slim.

10k is also the current sum required for a Visa on Arrival which is how many often refer to Visa Exempt
