In May I will be going to Thailand on a non immigrant O visa but I will be only stay for 7 weeks. During that time, I will open a bank account and several days later wire in the 800K baht to give it time to season. In December I will go to Thailand again on a new non immigrant O visa and plan to get it extended for a year. My question is: If I have the bank account already with the seasoned 800K baht, what will it cost me to have an agent get the 1 year extension?

Hi, have anyone successfully done their own Retirement Visa application directly at Chiang Mai Immigration Office instead of thru a visa agency?

If yes, could you kindly share step-by-step how to do it ourselves? And including the cost.

Do I need to transfer the required 800k baht to my Thai bank account before I can start to apply for this visa at Immigration Office?

Deeply appreciated in advance.

The first time I applied for my retirement visa extension (I switched from marriage visa extension to retirement visa extension) they asked me to come back after a few months to show them that my bank balance had not dropped beyond the minimum. This time (the second time) they did not ask me to do such a thing. I am supposed to go back? If so, after how many months/days?
