Quick question, to fund the bank account which i will keep at 800k at all times , do the funds have to be transferred from offshore with a bank transfer confirm or can they be deposited from onshore and as long as I keep at 800k.
Answer summary
The funding source for your Non-O bank account is flexible. For the initial 90-day Non-O visa, many immigration offices may require funds to be transferred from abroad, but for annual extensions, funds can be deposited from any source. Overall, the key requirement is maintaining at least 800,000 baht in your account.

On Application for the initial 90 day Non O, you'll provide proof of funds 800,000 baht equivalent.
Once you arrive in country and have opened a Thai bank account, transferring from the account used during the initial application can make things slightly easier during the extension application.
When you apply for the non o visa bank account records are required … typically showing more than your 800k… but in my case we had transferred funds from our joint account into my wife’s account prior to leaving the states… when I opened my 800k account we transferred from her account to mine… all funds have to be in your own individual account … there is not any restriction where the money comes from… hope that helps!
For an annual extension of stay the funds can come from anywhere. For an initial 90 day Non-O visa many immigration offices require the funds to be transferred in from abroad
Ian O'Sullivan if you bring it in as cash make absolutely sure you register it on your customs entry form, and the bank receipt from where you received it in cash, giving you the paper trail you need if you bring it in in cash. It makes it much easier to just do a single SWIFT b2b transfer, than multiple Wise transfers, if you change your mind, and want to take the money out as a lump sum.
