We have a friend from England living in Singapore that has asked me if I could write a letter of invitation for them to apply for a 6 month visa. Not sure what to do I want to help but not put my visa at risk by not being completely correct with the reason. Secondly is the visa number used as a residents number thanks in advance

Does it take 15 days max to process a 6 month tourist visa? Does the process take longer outside home country? If one is not financially able to go to a near by country (hotel, food, processing fee, flight) the best would be to return to country of origin before last run?

Thank you.

Strange experience yesterday.

Just make sure you have hard copies of relevant paperwork with you when entering Thailand.

Are medium to long stay foreigners wanted???

Once again obtained my 6 month multi entry tourist visa (9th year) from the UK by meeting all requirements.(£5000 in bank account for 6 months + hotel and return flight bookings)

Arrived BKK walked to priority gate and presented my passport with correct visa to officer.

At that point everything went rarther strange.

The officer took about 3 min looking at passport (it's a new UK passport) She then proceeded to give me the third degree.

Why you come Thailand for so long. (Holiday because the cold weather in England not good for my health)

How can you stay Thailand for 6 month ( I am retired, no need to return to England during bad weather)

Do I work Thailand (No).

Do I have Thai girlfriend.(No)

Do I have condo (No)

Where do you stay. (Named apart/hotel and offered to show hotel booking)

Why do you have new passport. (Old one expires offered to show old one)

This went on for about 10 min.

Eventually and reluctantly was given 60 day stamp.

All my friends who wanted 30 day exemption had no problems.🤔🤔🤔

I am here on a 6 month tourist visa which I obtained in Melbourne Australia. They told me I can get these back to back as I have a) enough cash and b)i'm not at retirement age yet.

On the application it says that a 6 month tourist visa is for ‘property owners’. I own a house in Thailand.

Will immigration continue to let me in on this visa once it’s issued? Melbourne said they would give me them back to back as long as I qualify. Otherwise elite visa for me I guess.

Greetings all,

2nd question of the day. Thailand has implemented their (relatively) new 6 month tourist visa. I am considering the METV variant, but I am disheartened by the USD7000 bank balance requirement. I have heard that this requirement is not strictly enforced. I would like to know if any here are currently using or have used this visa option, and if so, have you been asked for the $7k bank balance upon applying for this visa?

I have a multi entry 6 month tourist Visa that is up in January. As I understand I need to leave the country every 60 days. This is the first time I have gotten this Visa. So I had a couple questions.

First, when leaving every 60 days is it like I did before like a Visa run or visit a neighboring country for a few days and come back?

Second, being a multi entry I was told I can basically come and go from Thailand until my Visa expires in January. Is this the general understanding?

And last for now. When I'm coming back I'm not getting a new Visa, right? Just meeting the requirements for this visa.

Thanks for the help!

Has anyone had any experience getting back-to-back 6-month tourist visas with only a few weeks separation?

I had a 6-month visa last winter, returned to Canada for 3 months and got another 6-month tourist visa. That expired yesterday and now I'm back in Canada hoping to get my 3rd 6-month visa within 3 weeks. I'm hoping it's quick and easy because they collect $200 for approving it.
