My 1 year on non-O visa is coming up in January.. Every month I got in the 65,000฿ (so I can withdraw the 800,000 after a year). Monthly it was in on the same day or next, one time it was 4 days off. And a couple of times it was in pieces (the 65,000 was divided up - like 30,000, 10,000 and 25,000 all coming in at once) because otherwise Wise wouldn't get it in time. Hoping this might work out somehow, or am I screwed up on this technicality... maybe dependent on the agent?

Question regarding taxes:

I'm a US citizen and work remotely. My work is not stable, I pick up different contracts throughout the year.

I arrived to Thailand on a DTV late October 2024. I plan to stay though Songkran and extend for an additional 6 months. That puts me at more than 180 days for calendar year 2025. What are my tax obligations? Do I need to pay Thailand & US taxes?

I traveled for over 10 months internationally 2024 but didn't stay in one place for more than 180 day so I'm assuming it's ok for this year.

TIA!

UPDATE. Petchabun Immigration. Non O visa (over 50) application yesterday. Irish passport. With my Thai partner.

First we had to update my TM 30 in person as I have just got back here. Entered on visa exempt and got 60 days.

Then we were told to go to the bank and get a letter and statements showing 800000 for the last 2 months. Luckily I have a bank acc and had put the money in the account before my arrival here. The IO wrote down what we needed in Thai to help us before we went to the bank.

Back to the IO and they did all the paperwork. Pages and pages of my bank book transactions and all kinds of other stuff. I just had to sign my name about 50 times on both sets. 2 recent photos. My partner had to hand draw a map of where the house is as they said they would come and visit in the next 2 weeks and provide all kinds of docs about herself.

Now it is 'under consideration' for 3 weeks and we have to go back on 28th to get the Visa confirmed and stamped in my passport.

2 points to note:

First that I needed the money in my bank 2 months before I even applied for the Visa, not the extension.

Second that they will come and visit for a retirement Visa not a marriage visa.

Not many people use Petchabun IO but thought the update might help some of you.

Does my company registration documents need to be translated to English? Obviously it won't look like the official certificate so a literal translation which is stamped by the company is ok? We are a bit confused by that one. Thanks. (Applying in Jakarta)

I have a question about the financial edvendence THB 500,000, is it only request when you apply DTV for one time or I should keep in the bank every year ? And the employee contract must mark working location or "remote" ?

Hi friends! So stoked to have the DTV visa! Question for the group: I arrived the other day and this is what my stamp looks like. I understand the rule about leaving every 180 days, I was just surprised this was the format for the stamp. I asked the officer if it was good for five years, and he said yes, and he had given me the first 180 days. Yet, I’ve seen other people with a full page sticker visa that says 5 years. Am I cool? Do others have this same stamp? Or should I be concerned? Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi!

I'm applying for DTV in Hanoi, they requested all Thai visa I have received until present. Before I had two tourist visas - one single entry (I stayed around 3 months), one multiple entry (I stayed around 7/8 months). Has anyone's application been rejected because of staying that long?
