TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the DTV visa extension for 180 days, it seems common that immigration offices may require to see financial documentation again, including proof of 500,000 THB in your bank account. Reports indicate that the process may vary by location, with some officers possibly asking for additional documents such as proof of residence or the history of funds in your account. If you find the extension process too challenging, some suggest considering a border bounce to reset your visa instead.

If you don’t want to do the extension just do a visa run either by air or land…it will reset your visa and your 90 day report date…if not you will have to show your seasoned bank acct with the ฿500k a map to your residence and anything else the I/O might want to see…good luck

What entry scheme did you use to apply, digital nomad or soft power? Immigration will want to see updated paperwork and seasoned finances. As mentioned just do a border bounce and save yourself a lot of headaches.

I did our extensions in Krabi and the officer there wanted to see that the funds had been in our accounts for 3 months. He also wanted a print out of Google map that showed where we live and a picture of us outside our house (2 things I didn't have lol)

But yes - the money was a big thing for our extension.

haha, well done. My first time visit to immigration here, they wanted a hand drawn map and phot of me outside the house too. 🤣😂🤣 That was also my last visit to immigration in Thailand.

gotta love it haahhahaha!! Our immigration head honcho has a good sense of humor and I managed to keep it light - but he was not happy and told me numerous times - just do border run - next time you do border run - border run much easier 😂 He also had a headache - so it wasn't a good day for him.

I love Thailand 🇹🇭 ❤️

Most reports indicate that immigration offices do not want to give this extension. They will throw up many barriers to prevent you from successfully applying for it, and suggest you do a border bounce by leaving Thailand to get a new stamp.

Here are the official requirements, but immigration offices are free to add their own requirements as they see fit.
