Discussions in this forum were most helpful in obtaining worcation DTV. Much appreciated.

Submitted documents late in the evening on 15.12.2024 to London Embassy.

I am the sole proprietor/ director of my consultancy company.

Documents entered

Passport, Visa photograph from studio, Evidence of Location - utility bill.

Evidence of above 500K bhts in account over 6 months

Covering letter indicating the nature of work, reason for choosing Thailand for remote work, acknowledgement to work within the law of the land and that my clients will all be from outside of Thailand. And the documents attached.

Company registration for 2024.

Snapshot of the company information on Gov.uk website and link.

Employment certificate ( Thanks very much to Samantha Haselden from this gp for the direct advise) indicating remote work.

Tax return for 22-23.

Couple of service letters and invoices along with the payment into the bank account highlighted ( personal details of clients were redacted for confidentiality).

16.12 evening received email from the embassy asking for selfie photo ( the photo included on my DTV is the selfie I submitted on that request) and a proof of location - submitted my UK diving licence.

18.12. Visa site showed ' processing awaiting approval.

24.12 DTV approval email just after midnight.

Many thanks again especially to the original person who setup this group and allowed me to join and to all the contributions here that helped me.

I want to get a DTV from a soft power dental work application, here's my situation:

I recently got a crown done from a Bangkok Government Dental Office. I need to do another implant and crown on the other side and asked the doctor if he could give me a letter so I could apply for the DTV.

Pros - The letter from the doctor is on the office letterhead, is signed by him and has the "official" stamp. This is a government dental office.

Cons - The letter is pretty general saying that I got a crown done and that I plan to get an implant done on my next visit, and a crown after that. Unfortunately there are no specific dates/timelines/payment plans.

I'm heading to Vietnam in a few days and am thinking about applying from Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi.

I was also thinking about applying from Taipei since I read on here that you could talk to someone first before paying the application fee to see what your chances are. I also read on here that Taipei plans to go online application only in January 2025, and unfortunately I can't be there by then.

Also, I'm turning 50 next May so maybe I should go for the retirement O-A Visa instead?

Any thoughts or advice? Do I have a chance? Thanks!

My employment verification letter doesn't mention that I am able to work internationally remote, only that I'm able to work remotely. Does this matter for DTV application?

When extending your stay in Thailand, what reason should you give?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but couldn’t find anything. I have an Australian company that has a distribution agreement for products made in Thailand. I rent a house as our Thai office but this is not formally registered with the Thai government. I was recently granted a one year business visa for Thailand. The purpose of our presence in Thailand is to assist in design and development and to monitor quality control. We don’t sell or otherwise generate revenue outside Australia.

Questions:

1. Are there any tips for getting a three-year business visa?

2. Would the business visa enable me to start a Thai bank account in the company name or would I first have to register a branch office?

3. Any advice on establishing a branch office would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

I'm here on a student visa for a total of 9 months. I'm planning to go for a holiday (2 weeks)outside of Thailand in April and at the end of May, I'm planning to go back to my home country for a family visit, also 2 weeks.

I know that I have to buy a re-entry permit for these 2 trips but I've read that immigration might refuse entry back into Thailand because it is a student visa.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm Dutch and I go to Thai language school. And i have never done a visa run or anything similar, maybe this is useful information.

Dear Expat Community,

I'm reaching out because I'm growing weary of the constant cycle of 30- and 90-day visas. I'm seeking advice on long-term residency options. I'm fortunate to have sufficient financial resources and a retirement account.

I'm hoping to connect with fellow expats who have successfully navigated the process of obtaining a one-year visa or residency permit. Any insights, tips, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Wishing you all a joyous holiday season filled with peace, love, and prosperity.

Married to a Thai for 33 years but worked abroad and visited Thailand on Tourist visas. On retirement got an O-A visa but with COVID and my Mums passing I had to leave before renewal than spent two years in the UK.

Returned last year on an O visa.

This year had intended to do the same but due to a medical issue not able to know when I was flying and by the time I did could not get a visa.

So arrived on a 60 day visa exemption and the local IO said pop back for a 30 extension.

So would it be best after 90 days to do

1. A border bounce in Loas.

2. Stay in Loas or Cambodia for a few days an return. I have a genuine ticket to leave within that additional 60 days.

Also can you get an O visa whilst in Thailand on a visa exemption.

Cheers
