Hi I'm thinking of applying for dtv soft power visa. However. I cannot 6 consecutive monthly in Thailand

For professional and personal reasons, I'll have to leave thailand for one month. Would it be a problem if I cannot participate for one month in the classes ? (Thinking of taking the thai culture dtv)

Thanks for adding me!

I’m looking for advice about the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to bring my Thai girlfriend/fiancé into the US?

Neither of us are rich, just in love and want to get married and live a simple happy life together… 🤷‍♂️

Hello 👋

I’m a DTV visa holder, and this is my second time entering Thailand with the DTV.

I would like to know if I need to present supporting documents again, such as bank statements or anything else.

Also, could you please confirm whether Vietnam 🇻🇳 is an acceptable departure country for my second entry with the DTV?

2 questions about dtv

1. Do I have to have a flight booked as I don't want to book until I am approved. Anyway round this?

2. Does it matter what bank I use for 500k proof?

I'm going from an edu visa to DTV (workcatiion) on my second passport. I have a Thai bank account. My friends said it could be blocked once I switch to DTV. Has this actually happened to someone?

Hello folks, useful answers here, thanks to all who answered, Mods, Admins, Experts and general members with experience. My question is rather simple:

If I get "O" visa based on 800,000 THB in my Thai Bank account, keep that money intact year after year whenever next visa renewal is due, is that OK?

I have other sources of funds to live on.

🚨 Hi everyone, I urgently need your help regarding the Non-Immigrant ED Visa for Thailand. 🚨

I applied for the ED visa online yesterday, and unfortunately received the message "Your visa application has been cancelled" just a few hours later.

The application fee was already paid, but unfortunately it’s non-refundable.

I wasn’t told the reason for the rejection, but when reviewing my documents I noticed that I had made a mistake in my initial application.

I had accidentally written the course period as July 2025 to November 2026, which would of course exceed the normal visa period. Even though the official school letter clearly says July 2025 to November 2025. I've now corrected that mistake.

However, I’m still unsure if there’s another issue.

According to the school's letter, the program starts on July 26, 2025, but my planned arrival in Thailand is only in September 2025.

Could this timing mismatch be the reason for the rejection?

Is it a problem if the course officially begins before I enter the country?

I’d really appreciate your help:

* What are the most common mistakes with the ED visa application?

* When specifying the duration of stay, do I need to match the course dates exactly, or only my personal travel dates?

* Do I already need to have a return flight booked for the visa to be approved, even if I plan to extend my stay later?

* What should I pay extra attention to?

* Has anyone had a similar experience and can give me advice?

Unfortunately, I can’t contact the embassy until Monday by phone or email.

Until then, I’d be really thankful for any tips or insights 🙏

I’m on a non-immigrant O visa and still on the 3 initial months.

I haven’t started the extension process yet. If I leave the country just before the 90 days are up, could I apply for an O-A visa instead? Honestly, I’d rather not lock up a big chunk of my money in Thailand right now. I prefer to keep it in my home bank for at least another year before thinking about a longer commitment. Do you think that’s going to be an issue with that? TIA

Hello all,

Quick question. I have spent 7 of the last 10 months in thailand on tourist visas, normal 60 days plus an extension. 3 months last year and jan/feb and april to june this year. When i arrived in January in phuket they questioned how many times i came in but in April in Bangkok no questions. i have never overstayed and am not working while there.

I am starting the process of the DTV visa.

my question is, if in meantime i went to thailand, is there any reason i would get rejected, i can't find any definition of max amount of days per year?

thx
