What are the chances of getting rejected when entering Thailand again on a tourist visa while applying for a DTV visa?

Hello all,

Quick question. I have spent 7 of the last 10 months in thailand on tourist visas, normal 60 days plus an extension. 3 months last year and jan/feb and april to june this year. When i arrived in January in phuket they questioned how many times i came in but in April in Bangkok no questions. i have never overstayed and am not working while there.

I am starting the process of the DTV visa.

my question is, if in meantime i went to thailand, is there any reason i would get rejected, i can't find any definition of max amount of days per year?

thx

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the implications of frequently entering Thailand on tourist visas, as they are in the process of applying for a DTV visa. Responses from the community suggest that, while there is no defined maximum number of days one can spend in Thailand on tourist visas, repeated entries might lead to questioning by immigration officers. The importance of applying for the appropriate visa is emphasized, and members highlight that experiences can vary based on individual circumstances and local immigration policy.

I really doubt they would deny you entry. Tourism is down. You are spending money. You are no trouble. Yeah they might question you. I was fully expecting to be grilled on my last entry in to BKK in April. Not a peep from the IO. Just a smile and a stamp. I've been coming in 3 or 4 times a year on a stamp. Might depend on your country of residence and how long you've been out.. GL!

There is no defined limit, you can do it until you can't. Each time you enter and every immigration office you face is going to be different. Just wait until you get your DTV.

Up to the officer discretion.

It’s up to the IO but it sounds like you could be a candidate for denial

You have been entering on a Tourist visa whilst not fulfilling the criteria as a tourist so you can expect to be questioned. Good that you are going on a more appropriate visa.

Nobody can tell you if you are lucky or get rejected, but better come with your DTV visa next time.

Your days are numbered, enter a nearby country, Apply for the DTV, and stay there till it's approved.

just wait it out until you get the DTV

your entry/stay history no matter if it was real tourist visas or free entry stamps is enough to warrant you being pulled aside and be questioned

What you're not gonna do is live here on tourist visas and/or 60 day visa exempt entries (and sadly from what you say that's pretty much what you've been doing)
