When I go to Immigration following the two months maturation of funds in the bank, how long does it take to get the 12 month stamp which will then allow me to leave Thailand and return home?
We are arriving CNX on Dec 31, with the goal of staying until first week of June. Which option would you recommend:
1. - Enter in 60 day visa exemption, leave TH on day 60, fly to northern VN for 1-2 weeks, return to CNX on visa exemption 60 days and extend for 30 days.
OR
2. Arrive on visa exempt 60 day entry, extend for 30 days, leave TH 1-2 weeks, and reenter on 60 day visa exemption.
Is there an advantage for one over the other, mostly regarding reentry? Better to leave after 60 days and try for extension on second entry?
I’ve been toiling over this and can’t see one way better than the other, but maybe I’m missing something. Thanks as always for your counsel!
Has anyone used investments as proof of funds? I only keep 6 months worth of money in banks(I have low outgoings), the rest is invested. Just need to know if someone has managed to use proof of capital via investments?
Upon leaving BKK recently on a non O visa with a re-entry stamp. I was directed away from the e gates to an immigration officer by staff, after showing her the stamp.
Although I intended to go that route anyway, I have no idea if it makes any difference just wanted to share it.
I will need to apply for a DTV from the UK embassy.
What are peoples experiences of applications through there?
Having looked through a lot of posts etc, I am still confused by what is actually required by the London embassy as requirements seem to differ greatly between locations.
I have been told that London only requires the bank balance on the month of the application, not 3 months, that they do not check previous earnings ( I do have them ) and other diffferences in some requirements.
I would be applying as a freelancer with a portfolio of apps and my marketing business.
Could people who have actually applied through the London embassy please confirm what the emabasy actually requested so I can be fully prepared.
There is so much conflicting information out there that I need a better perspective from people that have actually done it.
Would love to get your help on the below, and if you ever come up with that request. I submitted my documents to the Belgian embassy with the digital normal workcation (I have a permanent contract here that lets me work from anywhere), and 3 days late,r they came back with the following request for additional documents:
Higher res photo - did you scan or maybe take a picture of your passport-sized photo with your phone? I scanned it to ensure it looks better, but I guess not suitable
2.Other request documents: Since application would get 5 years-visa, please provide the letter of explanation of your plan/ project for the next 5 years in Thailand
Have you ever needed to submit project plan like this - not sure what plan they expect, that maybe I want to take language and cooking courses, perhaps at my own pace and understand the culture better?
Soft power. Unemployed. 6 months. Documents are valid. Requirements are met. Attended a 1 hour interview. Embassy in Vienna.
I saw someone post about wanting to be based in Thailand for 2-3 years and asking about the process. I thought the DTV isn't meant for long-term stays, but at my interview the embassy questioned every small detail of my application, and did so several times. I stated that after finishing the soft power course, I would return to my country, look for a remote job, and maybe come back later to enroll and finish the other 6 months of the 12 month course.
In the end, they mentioned they would be asking for more documents to send to Thailand for review. One of these is a motivation letter. Now I am worried that what I already explained might make them think I want to overstay. I’m a bit confused is an understatement. How should I write a motivational letter?
