Hey guys, can someone recommend a country or an agency from where it’s easy and cheap to apply for DTV. I live in Thailand already. I was on a working visa before which expired. I have rental contract for 3 years and many Thai bills or contracts on my name.

I’m flexible and can travel to every country (within Asia) where the DTV process goes smoothly.

Any recommendations from people who are also living in Thailand and applied abroad for the DTV?

I’m looking forward for nice ideas and suggestions 🙏

Thanks in advance

Good morning everyone. I would like to ask, although some of you might think this is not a topic to be discussed in this forum —if that’s the case, the administrators can decide whether to remove or allow the post— I’m looking for a professional to inspect cars. The reason is simple: I’m looking for a used car, so I need to be sure of what I’m buying. Thank you, and have a great day.

Yes, I’m proactive with myself, and I say… maybe you’ll tell me, “go to a car forum.” And yes, you’re right. However, what I’m really looking for is someone who can confirm that this person is trustworthy. You know, we’re foreigners, and sometimes when we talk to Thai people, we don’t really know their intentions and vice versa. So I’m here to ask you if you have or know of any source where I could start managing this project of mine. Thank you.

Note: The system would be for me to select some cars and go with him to see them and have them inspected. It wouldn’t have to be every day, but occasional days.

Location: Phra Padaeng/ Bangkok

DTV Sponsorship letter

Can someone explain in further detail what exactly sponsorship letter I need to apply for the DTV visa? I work in sales and under 1099 contract so essentially I work for myself so not sure how a sponsorship letter applies in this scenario.

I am trying to apply for the DTV visa and I was wondering if anybody can give me some guidance with this.

I am in Chiang Mai at the moment. I tried to apply for the Non O visa for retirement but while waiting for my funds to be in the Thai account for the required two months, I ran out of visa time and was short ten days of the required time of visa. I had already extended my tourist visa which expires in 19 October.

I was advised to return to the US and apply but I am having a problem with the background check due to the US government’s shut down and not being able to get the FBI background check I need.

I have a one year lease for an apartment with the TM30 from my landlord, health insurance and medical certificate as well.

My question is for the DTV visa which seems to be my only option to come back to Thailand: Can any of this visa’s holders answer how their process worked? I know I can apply in person at the Thai embassy in Washington and want to make sure I have all that’s required as far as documentation.

One option to qualify is enrolling in a Thai language course and but I can’t find any information about the length of course I need to enroll in. I found that TSL language school meets the requirements and can go this week and get enrolled in the program.

I have a ticket to return to the US for 15 October and I’m in a bit of a pickle trying to find a visa that will keep me here or give up my dream of living in Thailand and permanently return to the US.

Thanking you in advance,

Angie

Hi, I am 51 and my wife is 38 and we will be moving to Thailand in January.

Trying to get my head around which visa to apply for.

My wife will be my dependent.

For the OA visa, do both my wife and I need to have 800k thb in a bank account or, as it is a joint application, is it sufficient to have just have 800k thb in 1 account. Also, does it have to be in Thai Baht, or can it be in a foregn currency but the equivalent to 800k thb?

Can the OA visa be extended every year for a year in Thailand? Or do I have to go back to my home country to procure the letter of no criminal record and medical certificate?

For the OX visa, is it for 5 years or 10 years? On the Thai embassy site it says 5 years each time, total 10 years. Does this mean that after 10 years I would have to switch to the OA visa?

I am eligible as a UK national. My wife is a Russian passport holder. Is she eligible as my dependent?

And again, for the 3 million thb in a bank account, can this be in a foreign currency or does it have to be in THB?

Thank you so much for answering these questions and I apologise if they have been asked before, but I couldn't find any link.
