What are the best countries to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from Thailand?

Hey guys, can someone recommend a country or an agency from where it’s easy and cheap to apply for DTV. I live in Thailand already. I was on a working visa before which expired. I have rental contract for 3 years and many Thai bills or contracts on my name.

I’m flexible and can travel to every country (within Asia) where the DTV process goes smoothly.

Any recommendations from people who are also living in Thailand and applied abroad for the DTV?

I’m looking forward for nice ideas and suggestions 🙏

Thanks in advance

On a side note, just be aware you cannot have a Thai bank account on DTV. If you have one already it will be closed and your money refunded to you

I guess that depends on the bank. I have a Thai bank account and I’m on a DTV.

Yes, but you are aware banks are closing accounts of DTV holders? It won't happen immediately for everyone, but it will in due course. Banks now won't take risks

From the myriad of comments made over the last few weeks from DTV holders who have had their bank accounts closed. Banks are also now publishing information that only non-immigrant visas are eligible for bank accounts. So they're not opening any more, but obviously they have to comb through existing accounts to ascertain those which don't qualify

ok interesting because if you do it alone it cost just 10-12k and agencies charging from 30k up to 60k, I have seen.

Is an Agency necessary?

I used Hanoi, Vietnam for my DTV in April this year. Very straight forward. Took about 5 days from application submission to receiving DTV via email. I didn’t need to attend the embassy itself.

I guess the documents you need to provide depends on which type of DTV you’re applying for. I applied as a Remote Worker. I didn’t provide any documents in advance I just uploaded them as part of the online application process. I uploaded 3 mths personal bank statements showing 500K THB in a Thai bank.

There is no minimum income requirement, Malaysia required 6 months of 500k THB. Vietnam approves with a final balance of 500K THB and 3-6 months statements. Check the main DTV group on FB, loads of Vietnam application tips there.

doesn't matter where in Vietnam, as you will have to apply online through the e-visa system of the Hanoi embassy or the HCMC consulate. Best to stay in Hanoi and await the issuance of the visa. You can be asked to the embassy for a personal interview. Waiting is about 1-2 weeks
