Hello, I am planning to come to Thailand around November 10 as a retiree and settle in Hua Hin region. What is the deadline to get the 90 days visa if you apply online? Otherwise is it possible to take a tourist visa 60 days and once on the spot apply for long Stay retirement visa on the spot at the immigration office? Thanks for your good advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to retire in Hua Hin, Thailand, and is inquiring about the timeline for obtaining a 90-day visa if applied for online. They wonder if they can enter on a 60-day tourist visa and apply for the long-stay retirement visa once in Thailand. Responses emphasize that individuals over 50 must apply for the NON-O retirement visa from their home country due to recent regulations, highlighting the importance of having a Thai bank account for extending stay within the country.

As mentioned you need to apply for a non o over 50 retirement visa in your own country today!!!! If you want to have a chance of getting it approved before you leave for thailand as it can take from 5 to 15 days depending on the embassy. The rules have tightened a lot in thailand when it comes to opening a bank account which you need for your extension of stay when in thailand. You can open an account with your non O from your country so suggest you sort asap

If you are over 50 and qualify for the non o retirement visa you must apply from your home country, or at least not from Thailand. You need to show cash in your bank account. Then enter Thailand on that visa which gives you 90 days and immediately open a bank account and transfer 800,000 baht. After 2 months you can apply for a one year extension. You cannot get this visa in country anymore unless you already have a Thai bank account. You can come on a visa exempt entry and find a condo etc then leave to a nearby country to apply for the non o then come back if you prefer to secure housing first etc but makes more sense to do it the other way
