I know certificate of residency has been discussed here before. However, I would like to start a thread of people's recent reports of acquiring one. I tried in Jan 2025 at Nakhon Pathom Immigration and was told no certificates for DTV holders.

For people who received one recently, please share which office you applied, what documents were needed, and a summery of the overall process.

Thanks in advance.

I’m English and my wife is Polish, I’m already in Thailand on Non O retirement visa and building a home ready to move my wife and dogs once completed.

My wife has Polish and soon UK passport and turns 50 on September the 1st.

I have Thai bank account and she doesn’t.

With new banking regulations I see the only way for us to get the bank account open is to apply for 90 day Non O in the UK, I assume once she’s turned 50 or could we do it before? Then open her a bank account once she’s here, deposit the 800,000 and apply for the extension after 2 months?

Sorry if any of my terminology is incorrect.

Has anybody recently bounced at Kuala Lumpur?

Looking to stay near the airport, solo, one night only. Recommendations for a room under 1000 baht would be great. Let me know if they have a shuttle service and food/drink on premises or nearby.

I've never been to KL and don't plan on exploring the town this trip.

Thanks in advance!

I'm going to be flying to Hanoi soon and applying for a DTV Visa. Most of my bank accounts are Canadian and Singaporean, but I'd like to forgo the Vietnam visa fee by entering with my Norwegian passport (also time consideration as my flight leaves soon). Would it be awkward to apply with my Norwegian passport, if all of my bank accounts are Canadian and Singaporean?

Hi everyone! I want to apply for the DTV visa, but I have a question about the 500k THB requirement.

Currently I am listed as a manager of a bank account in my dads name, with an official letter from my bank stating that I myself have direct access to all funds (which surpasses above 500k THB).

The funds have been on the account for a period longer than 6 months, but the problem is that the bank can only put my dads name in the bank statement, but I have the letter I mentioned previously attached (again, showing I have direct and full access to all the funds in the account).

Would this be sufficient when applying for the DTV visa?

If I were to go to Thailand to visit my fiancé and I hold a visa-exempt passport, can I get married there and then immediately apply for a marriage visa? What are the requirements? I appreciate your opinions.

I have visited Thailand twice this year from the UK, both trips visa exempt and both for 30 days. I’m returning in October for 6 weeks and in January next year for a further 6 weeks. Will there be a problem with arriving on a visa exempt for 4 visits?
