I have a non o based on married to a Thai which runs out September 2025. myself and my wife will visit the UK in June 2025 for a 2 week holiday returning at the end of June. Will I save on the re entry permit fee if I DONT purchase a re entry permit when leaving Thailand, return from the UK after holiday on the 60 day free tourist visa. Then just re apply for the non o visa again? Or would it mean I'd spend more based on having to provide proof of a return flight returning on a tourist visa. (Presuming you don't need to show return flight on a non o) šŸ¤”

It just seems pointless paying for a re entry permit and a month later paying for non o extensionšŸ¤”

I just received an email stating that my visa has been canceled because my passport’s issuing country and my nationality are different. I am Chinese, and when my passport was about to expire, I replaced it in Chiang Mai. There’s no rule saying this makes me ineligible to apply. Can anyone tell me what I should do now? Please (Feeling very upset)

Supplement: Application submitted in Hanoi, Vietnam

Hey guys, just trying to prepare for my DTV application in Jakarta, is this the correct form? I dont see DTV listed as an option.

I'm also wondering what you had to show as proof of employment, do I need to show payslips or is a contract of employment enough? According to the official website-

4.1 for a DTV Workcation (Digital nomad/remote worker/foreign talent/freelancer) : Employment contract or employment certificate in their country or professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status

** Copies of agency/school/institution/company documents must be signed by an authorized person and stamped with the agency/school/institution/company seal

To me it seems like you only need a contract, but seems too easy šŸ˜…

Many thanks!

Hello for those experienced in DTV, I just want to be sure I’m getting the process done to apply and obtain a DTV the first time I do it (and correctly). Here’s my scenario:

I’m in Thailand now and have secured an apartment here and have a scheduled move in date of November 5th. I fly back to California in a couple days where I will be for just over 2 weeks before coming back to Thailand again to move into my new place. If I understand correctly I can apply online for the DTV as soon as I get back to California and am out of Thailand.

I sold my company in California a year ago and have technically retired with those funds (I’m 45 years old) but I do have a small business I started where I review/audit construction estimates for accuracy but it’s very very part time. I do this online and think noting that on the DTV as a digital nomad might be the easiest way for DTV approval.

Based on current approval timeframes would the two weeks be enough to obtain the DTV when k get back to California before heading back to Thailand around November 3rd? I don’t want to mess anything up with coming back into Thailand while the approval process is pending but I HAVE to be back November 4th to take ownership of the apartment (and hopefully start my long term living situation in Thailand which I’m excited for!)

Thanks so much for your experienced answers and advice.
