Just out of interest .. if the requirements at Savannakhet embassy are the same as in country why would you go over the border to do now?

@Matt *******
it's because in your home country, you cannot get 365-days multi entry Non-Imm-O family visa any more. Only the single entry 90 days Non-Imm-O visa type. Savannakhet is, together with Rangun (Myanmar) the LAST Thai consulate to issue multi-entry family visa. It isn't even mentioned on their website - you have to ask them when you visit them

I agree it would be easier but as a offshore worker that travels for work I'm not able to stay in country for the 3 months waiting period for the 1 year extension

Congrats on the visa,

make SURE you're stamped in on it when you come back into the country because there's been a rash of 'bad stamps' at land border where people are coming in on valid visas but the officer thinks you're coming in free stamp entry and gives 60 days

Did they require proof of 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months for your application?

oh and just to add they do require and check appointment is made and is 2 working days processing time also

I had the bank letter and stamped statements I had arranged 2 days prior but when I handed in my application they didn't seem ask for it personally but it was with all the other documents I handed into them sorry for not making that clear

@Ryan *********
alright. It is mandatory, and they seem to have noticed that you had it together with all the other documents
