I recently got married but to get married in Thailand I had to show I was eligible to marry had to go to the British Embassy and do an online application showing my divorce papers from many years ago they charged me £75 this was on the 29th of January I got married on the 2nd of February but early hours of last night my credit card was credited with the £75 back it just says government legislation services an idea why they gave it me back I said I had the paper off them I also paid to have it translated to be able to get married but it puzzles me to know why they sent me the money back

Hi everyone. I'm from US and over 50. I'm in Bangkok on a 90 day Non-O visa I got in the US before my arrival to BKK and looking to get my 1 year retirement Visa extension next week. Visa expires on April 4th. Looking online and came across multiple immigration offices here. Which location is best for my needs? and can I make a online appt. ? I tried the mobile app but was unable to book the day for appt. I believe the Immigration Division 1 is the correct office. Just want to make sure in advance before going there.

Hello! We've been in Thailand now for 2 months. This group has been so helpful. We are going back to Canada in a month and we will apply for our visas and get ready to settle in Thailand permanently. Hi all. I’ll be going to Bangkok immigration -Lak Si to extend my Non-O and get the multiple re-entry permit. Logistics question for you - should I get my “tickets” (the number to see the agents) first and then go to the bank for the letter and passbook update etc - or should I do that first and then get the tickets to wait in line? If I miss my number being called, can I go to the agent or do I need to get another number and start again? This is my first time doing it so was wondering what your experiences were. Thanks.

Hey y'all, just an update on my trip to Laos for visa exempt. It was not necessary to go with dollars because they accept thai baht at Wattay Airport in Vientiane (this detail is not specified in the website). Vientiane is a great city, I really liked it. A nice mix of east and west. In case anyone is interested, they have cool vegan restaurants there. I stayed in a very comfortable and affordable airbnb called Villa de Mekong. I bought the onward ticket but they didn't even ask for it at Don Mueang Airport. Anyway, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
