Medical insurance…

PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUS / CURRENT CLAIMS EXPERIENCE.

Would like to hear from members experiences with medical insurance companies. Who have you used that have good customer service and settled your claim without any fuss?

Not sure if we can mention the bad ones due to laws here in Thailand? I’m sure someone will clarify if that can be discussed.

Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of applying for a DTV using the workcation route. I am not in a big hurry and requesting first hand information from people who have applied for DTV from the USA (Chicago embassy).

I have a website that makes around $500/month from Google AdSense. I'm stashing that money into a separate HIS account, and now it has a little over $16K USD. I don't use the money for my living expenses.

I'm also a so-called 401(K) millionaire, and every two weeks I sell around $4,000 of VOO shares for my expenses, and I will continue to do so till I get my social security at FRA in 2028.

I live four months in Thailand (not continuously), four months in Portugal, and four months in the USA. I have a house in the USA, a condo in Thailand, and an apartment in Albufeira (Portugal).

For my business, I file US tax as a sole proprietor along with my 401(k) withdrawals. I have ACA health insurance that covers 50% of my emergency expenses anywhere in the world.

At present I use an agent assisted non-O retirement extension with a reentry permit costing me around 17K baht/year

Is it prudent to get a DTV, and if so, how should I proceed? For example, set up an LLC, a state registered company, or anything else. First hand experience is appreciated.

NON IMMI OA and health insurance

i hold a non immi oa (ret visa)

2 months ago i went abroad and soon i am reentering thailand using the reentry permit which was stamped on my passport before i exited thailand.

I have to buy the "complementing" medical insurance.

Has the insurance got to abide to some criteria (like during the covid pandemic, maximals, deductions, etc)?

Thank you

I'm from the US and will enter Thailand from the Philippines and get a tourist visa on arrival. Question: is a return or onward ticket required to enter Thailand?

Also, is health insurance required. If so, what are the policy requirements?

Advice please. I have a Thai wife. We recently married in the US and she resides in Thailand. I am over 50 and once our marriage is registered I can be put on her health insurance at PEA. I am going to be returning soon and we will register our marriage in BKK. Can I come to Thailand on a tourist visa and then convert to a 1-year retirement visa based on marriage WITHOUT having to put the required deposit in a Thai bank until my visa expires? If not, how can I come to Thailand for 1 year without putting the deposit in a Thai bank? I think I heard I can apply for the visa in the US without the required deposit. If I have to put the money in a Thai bank can I remove it when I return to the US and start the process all over again? I am just going to Thailand to help her prepare to come to the US. Eventually she will move to the US but we don't know exactly when. TIA!
