Hallo. I got accepted for exchange programme in Thailand. So now I got all documents from University and I wanna apply for Visa. So I'm going for non-imm ED visa and I realised that I can only get single entry.
I plan to travel during my stay to other Asia countries for events (I work in entertainment industry) and I was wondering is there any alternative to be able get multiple entries? I heard it's possible to pay everytime but it's like €50 or sum and if I'm gonna travel more than 5 times I think it's waste of money.
Anyone has idea how I can figure it out? Not sure if I can have other kind of visa and just study with that.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeking to apply for a non-immigrant ED visa for an exchange program in Thailand is concerned about the limitations of a single entry visa, especially since they plan to travel to other Asian countries during their stay. They inquire if there are alternatives for obtaining a multiple-entry option. Responses clarify that currently, ED visas are issued only as single-entry visas, and any re-entry will require obtaining a re-entry permit for each trip. Users explain the visa process, including the ability to apply for 90-day extensions, and inform them of the associated costs for single and multiple re-entry permits.

Nicola Padus I think you're confused how the process works to be an 'exchange student'.
Education visas are only sold as single entry 90 day visas at ALL thai consulates, there is no multi-entry ED visa available any more
The process works like this;
You get the 90 day single entry ED visa from a thai consulate, THEN once you're here and the 90 days runs down you get documentation from the university and get an extension on that 90 days.
If it's a real uni degreed course you'd get a year extension, otherwise they issue 90 day extensions.
IF you get the year extension then you would by a multiple re-entry permit and that would let you exit/re-enter the country all you wanted during that year
However, if you get just a 90 day extension you would still need a re-entry permit if you were going to exit/re-enter thailand
BUT
you'd need a NEW re-entry permit every time you got another 90 day extension (the re-entry permit is only valid as long as the extension)
